OpenMediaVault is Debian not the other way around. If you aren't using OMV or the plugin, you might have an easier time on the plex forum.

  • ok thank you.
But i think when we have Problems (debian-user) we can have the same problems.
And when we have the same, we can have the same solutions.

Good night, because i must work at the next day and thank you very much for your help.

  • Actually, 0.9.11.7 is the newest non-plexpass version according to the ninthgate repo packages file. I assume you manually updated to 0.9.11.13 because I never put that version in our repo??

Hmm, strange. I downloaded the packages from here. According to the official Plex download archive 0.9.11.16 is the latest non-plexpass and 0.9.11.17 is plexpass only.

I don't know what went wrong except that when I updated automatically through OMV GUI a couple of days ago my problems began. But by manually installing 0.9.11.16 last night things were back to normal.

The packages file for wheezy is here - http://shell.ninthgate.se/pack…ain/binary-amd64/Packages

What? It points to 0.9.11.7 not 0.9.11.13 or 16 or 17.

  • I got The Same Problem the Last few Updates.
So it isn't a problem by the version.

OMV 5.x always up to date.
Modded dell t20 into 19" rack case with Pearl LCD Display (Status Display!)

    xeon e3-1225v3 / 32GB RAM / 1x500GB WD Blue SSD (OS) / 1x250 SSD (not used) / 1x1 TB Toshiba HHD (MultiDisk) / 4x 4TB WD40EFRX (Raid5)

  • You should not try to update in the web gui of PlexMediaServer. Only do update through the Update Manager in the OMV web gui or manually following the instructions in the Setup Info. TAB.

  • I don't know where people are grabbing there packages. If you get from these links they are usually good.

Look in the first post by Christian Svedin on this thread. In his sig he has links for normal version and plex pass. You need to be signed in forum and be a plex pass user to grab the plex pass version. These links are in the Setup Info. TAB of the plugin as well.

  • The issue is saw was the init script created was a symlink that just didnt work:

    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Mar 13 20:14 plexmediaserver -> /lib/init/upstart-job

The original is renamed as a part of the install as per below:

    -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1865 Jul 19 2013 plexmediaserver.dpkg-bak

Just removing the symlink and renaming the -bak to plexmediaserver fixes it for me everytime.

  • Followed tab word for word, until it broke with the init script :)

I just grabbed the link on the plex members page, which states:

Hi here you can fetch deb packages for Debian for the preview releases of PMS Edit March 30 - 2015
    PMS 0.9.11.17
    AMD64
    i386

    wget http://removed.forobvious.reas….17.986-269b82b_amd64.deb

    The same page also states:

Q: Can't I use the ubuntu package on Debian?
A1 Short ver: No, use the Debian packages

Which makes me think the Ubuntu version would not work at all ? or is it the case it would work, but only if you hack the init script (as I did ?)
