Owncloud 8 and MySQL: alternative approach

  • Sorry, I have no experiences with proxy-pass, but it sounds good
And forget what I meant concerning "name-based".
I see, thats not exactly want you need.
Only if you manage to run the OMV webif also name-based (haven't tried this yet).
Then both could run under 80.

  • Can anyone help me with this Error Message?
I followed the guide, then i activated MySQL, set an directory and Password, then I get this message:

  • I moved the .php file into the Owncloud Folder via extplorer and then upload. And then I thought I should open the ip adress to start the installation. But i just get the error above

I installey MySQL and activated it and gave it an Folder in the root directory on the same disk where the www Folder and the owncloud Folder are... is that right?

    You have to type
    192.168.2.10:90/setup-owncloud.php

    Should be OK.

Can't help. Perhaps a reboot will do that.
If not, i would try to reinstall MySQL.
Bit that is a little bit tricky. Search in the forum for hints.

  • ok on Step 2 of the installation I get an 504 Gateway timed out....
But Owncloud seems reachable when I enter 192.168.2.10:90

Now I'm stuck at configure your installation:

Is there a default password or do I set one in the MySQL Plugin tab?

This may happen but I think that is mostly unimportant.

OC want to insert its own tables into the database.
Therfore it needs the credentials you entered in the MySQL plugin.
Usually "root" and the password you specified in the MySQL plugin.

  • It is the password in the plugin under
    "MySQL root-Passwort zuücksetzen"
Exactly the field you outlined in red.
    Choose a PW and press
    "Passwort zuücksetzen"
Use this PW in the OC installer, when asked for the database PW.

Note: The OC-Admin is NOT the database admin.
The OC-admin is created in the database automatically by the OC setup-wizzard with the help of the credentials of the MySQL plugin.

  • Post a screenshot.

    Edit:
And have a look at the database with MyWebSQL:
Is there already a database called "owncloud"?
Is there a user in the database "mysql" /users called oc_admin?

  • Sorry, no more ideas.

Perhaps reinstall your database. But read hints in this forum how to do this. Its a little bit tricky.

  • can somebody install plugins or update from the owncloud - webgui ? I must do all the things manual with copy from folders :(
