Why is it not recommended OMV install to USB?

    Just curious. Freenas and Nas4free both recommend install to a USB drive. OMV recommends not installing to USB drive. Why the difference in recommendation? Just looking for high level explanation as I'm far from expert in this stuff.

    OMV and Debian do a lot of logging that is write intensive. This will wear out a usb drive that doesn't have static wear leveling. You can use a usb hard drive, usb ssd, or usb stick that has static wear leveling (not very common).
