Temperature CPU?

  • @Redwid I will add your sensor in the next update.

@wbsoul I will also add yours

I will try and do these by the weekend but as I have been very busy lately I can not promise it, just keep an eye open for the update.

  • I am new at this and am trying to get this plugin to work. My motherboard is an Intel DG45FC running a Intel E7500 Core II Duo. My openmediavault is version 2.2.1 and the openmediavault sensors plugin is version 1.023. I installed the plugin via the webGUI and everything seemed to go fine. LMsensors is installed.

    Code
    sensors
    coretemp-isa-0000
    Adapter: ISA adapter
    Core 0: +38.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
    Core 1: +38.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

    ls /var/lib/rrdcached/db/localhost/sensors*/
    temperature-temp2.rrd temperature-temp3.rrd

The temps never seem to change though and are always showing +38.0C. The temps do change in the bios though ?( . This not my initial problem though.
My first problem is I have no tabs. Reading a ways back in this thread where others had this issue I noticed I do not have the Sensors.js file but I do have a folder /var/lib/rrdcached/db/localhost/sensors-coretemp-isa-0000 with the files temperature-temp2.rrd temperature-temp3.rrd in it. I reran /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors and got no errors but no file or tabs either. Looking at what is my next step?

Edit: strangely enough, I have 3 different copies of Sensors.js .
    1) /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/module/admin/service/sensors/Sensors.js
    2) /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/module/admin/dashboard/view/Sensors.js
    3) /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/module/admin/dashboard/part/Sensors.js
Are any of these part of this current plugin or could they be leftovers from some of my previous attempts to install omv-sensors? Should I delete them?

  • @Cougar can you run sh -x /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors and give me the results. Just so you know, you will need to select the coptin "Show Cores" in the plugin page as you have very limited sensors.

@Redwid @wbsoul I have added your sensors but ATM I am unable to update the package in to a new version.

  • @jhmiller Results of sh -x //mkconf/sensors http://pastebin.com/102r49dFcc

I assume that once I have the tabs working I'll see the options on the plugin page so I can select "Show Cores"

The options should show up under the plugin's page, if you can not see it you may need to refresh your browser page, delete your browser cache or maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin (try each one in turn)
You will not get any graphs until you set your settings via the plugin page.

  • OK, found it under the "Services" tab and optioned it for CPU only. Saved, applied, and refreshed. Still no tabs or graphs even though Sensors.js is now in the /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/module/admin/diagnostic/system/plugin/

  • OK, a reboot and it seems to be working now. Thanks jmiller for your assistance. I am now waiting to see if the core temps show anything different than the 38.0 C they show on the CLI. Thanks again!! :D

  • HI all
where download last version this plugin... i 've installed last version OMV, but there is not this plugin... I have only found 1.0.5 version....

    Hi there.
If you want to download the newest sensors plugin you must enable the "Download Managers Testing" in OMV-Extras.org plugin and refresh the repo.

I install the new 1.23 sensors plugin but i have sad faces :(

Jhmiller can you add my sensors to the script ?
Maybe you cane wrote an instruction how to add a new sensors to the script so every body can do this.

  • My cat /proc/cpuinfo

  • @mpn105
Is that 2 machines or 1 machine with 2 sensors?

I take it fan1 is for the cpu but what temp is for the cpu, temp1 or temp3?

  • One machine with 2 sensors. one sensors read 1 cpu and half a fan ports and second reads cpu 2 and second half fan ports

  • So this will need a little work :(

The plugin is designed to show 1 cpu and any cores in that cpu, the same goes for the cpu fan but you have 2 of each.
Give me a few days and i will see what I can come up with.

    wget -O /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors https://raw.githubusercontent.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/openmediavault-sensors/master/usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
    chmod +x /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
    /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors

Try the above to pull the latest version of the script, try enabling just the cpu graphs to start with.

If you have issues could you give the output off sh -x /usr/share/openmediavault/mkconf/sensors
