What is the rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/test.list line for?
-
Cuz you don't need it anymore. It deletes the test.list repo. It was just temp repo so you can grab openmediavault-omvextrasorg package. The line that was put in test.list is now in the repo installed by your package...
-
I didn't look at the first line completely. That is why I still think it should be installed using the web interface.
If you really want to install by apt-get, you can remove a step by doing the following: The .list file is overwritten anyway.
-
I don't find any issues with installing this way and I've been doing it quite a while now. The above is better. Wasn't thinking about it being overwritten. But couldn't you even delete the last step???? Maybe only 3 steps now. When the package is install does it not do an apt-get update???
-
When you install using the web interface, it does reload the package index. When installing via apt-get (or dpkg), the package being installed cannot do an apt-get update. If you want to get rid of the last line, the user would just have to click Check in the plugin or update tab.
-
I change the top post to 4 steps.
-
-
dpkg won't install the dependencies of omv-extras. So, you may have to add an apt-get -f install after step 2.
-
So better to use this? then I have to change it in the new section
-
My method is better because the package name will change. You can use my method no matter what the name changes to. Seb's you will always have to look at package name before you do it, after it is no longer 1.0.7
-
Ok, I changed it in the Guides section!
-
I am from the gentoo world, so not really familiar with apt-get, but what do we need to do to get the GPG error for the omv-extras.org repo resolved?

That error shouldn't be there. Try to reinstall the plugin with apt-get install --reinstall openmediavault-omvextrasorg
