It uses Port 8000, which is already used by another Plugin (not sure which one right now), so it should be tweaked to use another port.
Greetings
David
Does anyone have a copy of the tutorial. The website is down for a while and I searched the web for another tutorial, but everyone mentions the link above :-(.
I've also tried to install seafile as usual in debian via ssh, but I have no permission to install, even as root user, using sudo etc.
Kind regards,
David

Maybe the url changes.
But the script dont work. Seafile downloads are here now: https://bitbucket.org/haiwen/seafile/downloads
This http://filipinjo.com/t/tutoria…aspberry-pi-or-ubuntu/188 tutorial is great aswell. Even has a youtube video if you cant acces your ip:8000 in browser, clear your cookies.
Question to the developers:
Would it be difficult to create a plugin following this tutorial? (for the plugins, I don’t know how it works and how much work is involved!)
Thanks
FT
I've seen in the wanted plugins page that they deem it difficult. The setup through ssh is okay to follow, but now I just need to find out how to store my seafile-data on a disk instead of boot drive...
This is exactly what the plugin does…as well as harmonizing users, read/write permissions etc…
I hope that something can be done about this.
To make a plugin for seafile, you would have to recreate everything in the setup script. Syncing the users would require a connector script as well. Both of those are a lot of work.

ok thanks for the clarification
That is really too bad ryecoaaron.. However if it will be too hard, do you have an idea how to move the data directory to a hard drive? Now when I install it, the data gets stored on the (limited) boot drive.
mv seafile-data /media//e7b7630c-7043-4fdf-8538-db4aee1e322d
will not work with my setup
I didn't say it would be too hard. Just a lot of work and I don't have much free time.
Glancing at the setup script, it looks like it asks you where you want to put the data directory. No idea about how to move it.
Oh i see it now, sorry for the trouble.
Do you know how to delete any previously installed things? I want to reinstall the whole thing, so I rm -r seaFile, thus it should be gone, but I dont know if all installed things have gone away aswell.
Maybe this can be of any help for creating a plugin:
https://github.com/haiwen/seaf…le-server_4.1.2_x86-64.sh
It's the first attempt of an automated installation script for the community version of seafile-server.
Concerning the seafile-data directory this can probably help you:

That script will definitely help
Are chances now getting better that you will find time for it ... ;)?
It is difficult to find time for something I don't use If I did, someone else will have to write a user connector (for seafile to use OMV users).
Well, if it's that easy, I guess you just have to use it
It's good!
What alternative are you using?

I don't use any of the alternatives. I use ssh/scp
