Logitechmediaserver how to install?

Hi,

after following Solo2s advice to bring in the slimedevices repository testing main eg unstable main (deb http://debian.slimdevices.com testing (unstable) main) in OMV through OMVs- extra plugin i cant install logitechmediaserver. After apt-get update && apt-get install logitechmediaserver or installing the lms plugin this is following:

Need to get 120 MB/120 MB of archives.
After this operation, 309 MB of additional disk space will be used.
WARNING: The following packages cannot be authenticated!
logitechmediaserver openmediavault-lms
Authentication warning overridden.
Get:1 http://debian.slimdevices.com/ unstable/main logitechmediaserver all 7.8.1~1397251110 [120 MB]
Failed to fetch http://debian.slimdevices.com/…_7.8.1~1397251110_all.deb Size mismatch
Fetched 120 MB in 21s (5613 kB/s)
Fertig ...

Any advices from the community?

What version of OMV are you using?

Give results of:

dpkg -l | grep openmediavault

I didn't know there was an openmediavault-lms.

This openmediavault-lms is an old plugin. It will not work with OMV .5 or higher.

This is how you add the repos in the custom repo section of OMV Extras:

deb http://debian.slimdevices.com/ stable main


deb http://debian.slimdevices.com/ testing main


deb http://debian.slimdevices.com/ unstable main

Choose which one you want (i.e. stable, testing or unstable).

PS- When you click on update in the Custom repo tab that is same as "apt-get update". It is verbose too so it will let you see if there are any errors after adding the repo. The silient button just does not print it to the screen.

Hi,

thank you for your advice. My OMV Version is 05.44. Absolutely right is that this plugin does not work in omv.

I found a solution on my own. Here it is.:

If everyone want to install logitechmediaserver and none of the called respositorys deb http://debian.slimdevices.com stable/testing/unstable main will work
the following respositorys could do it deb http://debian-origin.slimdevices.com stable/testing/unstable main

My music Server is now living again.

Hi,
I am trying to use your advice (herebelow), thank you.
Everything seem working well, I have created a new line in the Custom Repo, updated it and ... I don't know how to go further (I mean how to instal the LMS ?)
Updating of this new repo seems working well (I can see the information scrolling) but after there is no choice that appears, nothing.

Sorry for my ignorance, I am fresh new into OMV

That's exactly what I have done.

it updates a repo (at least what I think, there is the information scroiling),
the problem I have is that I don't know how to go further ?
I mean how to instal the LMS ? or where is the LMS ? how to acces it for configure ?

I have no idea what is LMS.
But if you need to install an extra package (not a plugin) you need to do it through cli with apt-get install packagename
