For people who are facing this issue (like in OMV 1) when installing plugins within web GUI on OMV 2 (target system: Wheezy with OMV installed over) you could add this line
"export PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin; ".in /usr/share/openmediavault/engined/rpc/pluginmgmt.inc next to the one containing
$cmd = sprintf("export LANG=C; export DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive; ".
and restart the openmediavault-service
While that should work, you shouldn't have to reset the path. It works fine on most systems and I have looked and looked for reasons why with no luck.
this origin of this issue was found some time ago IIRC. The problem is when engined gets restarted using the alias "service" the daemon a good bunch of characters are eaten from the env file of the pid. Is a bug in setproctitle php.
