Why is triggerhappy daemon running on default installation on RPi?

    Hi,
I just noticed that my newly installed OMV on RPi is running triggerhappy daemon. Is there a reason for this?
Normally, a NAS does not even have a keyboard attached ...

When I first created the image, I removed all of the unnecessary packages from Raspbian. I guess I missed one :)

    omv 7.0.5-1 sandworm | 64 bit | 6.8 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 7.0 | kvm 7.0.13 | compose 7.1.4 | k8s 7.1.0-3 | cputemp 7.0.1 | mergerfs 7.0.4

omv-extras.org plugins source code and issue tracker - github - changelogs

Nope. I am pretty sure I removed raspi-config from the rpi3 image. Just in case you see it, rpi-update needs to stay.

  • One more thing ... can I remove "consolekit" package as well?
This will remove the dependend packages "colord" and "policykit-1".
Afaik, they're all used for graphical logins and not for a NAS.

It should be ok to remove them. I know OMV doesn't depend on them.

  • Wow nice :)
KiB Mem: 494096 total, 170288 used, 323808 free, 13436 buffers
on my RPi 1 running OMV with Transmission and MiniDLNA plugins.

    Here's what I did:

    • turn off monitoring
    • remove package triggerhappy
    • remove package consolekit
    • comment out the following lines from /etc/inittab
      2:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty2
      3:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty3
      4:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty4
      5:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty5
      6:23:respawn:/sbin/getty 38400 tty6
      T0:23:respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyAMA0 115200 vt100

... and with overclocking the ARM CPU to 1GHz, I was able to double (!!) the SMB file transfer rates from 3,5 to 7 MB/s

    I love OMV <3 <3:D

Thanks for the optimizations. I will make those changes to the next RPi image release.
