I Use omv 2 on a microserver gen8. What is still missing is a cloud solution for sharing like owncloud or seafile. The owncloud plugin being rather old in this hasnt changed recently is no option. So how should a newer Version along with https Support be installed Best? Another linux vm or via docker? Any experiences here and eventually a Step by step Guide?

Owncloud or seafile and which way to install best

There just seems to be so many problems w/ Owncloud.. I wouldn't use it. Seafile seems to have far better support. You could install it in docker or a VM, but I personally don't really see the point in that...

Does the tutorial also work for oc9?
And is it still better to setup either solution in a Linux Virtual machine? -
I would install it using the Docker Plugin.....
Its just safe!

maybe you should try the official container first
https://hub.docker.com/r/library/owncloud/
personally i don´t use owncloud...

That OC8 tutorial is work for OC9 too.
I prefer OC better, it's more friendly and better GUI. -

That's correct.
OC9 required high version php, but it still work.
I guess it's a user preference, I like the OC interface than Seafile.
Pydio is a good alternative too. -
So both versions of PHP can be installed I guess on same machine. If that is the case then you should be able to run OC 9 without using Docker and use the Alternative Approach Guide.
