I remember, that I set up a new omv 2. But no Samba, Users etc. And now everything works fine!
The machine respond much quicker than with the old Higpoint Rocket 640L and 620 Controller together with omv1.
I'm still happy...
THX so much!

No matter how long it would take, is it possible to enlarge the RAID? 2 ports are still available...
What would be the magic command?

Add drives and use the Grow button in raid tab.
Tschensie say that >16TB make Problems with the omv onboard Growing button. It have to be fixed with pmagic.
But I think he use omv1, you use 3 and me 2... Maybe this is the reason for his problems?
Another question.
If I expand the RAID, then it should be better 18TB than 12TB, the duration will not be much worse, right?
There are still 2 Ports free at the LSI Controller. I could get a third Port if I connect the boot SSD via USB. You have an advice for a good and low cost intern USB3 to SATA adapter?

If you use xfs, it doesn't matter what version of OMV. If you use ext4, it depends on what version of OMV it was created with. Use gparted live or pmagic will definitely work.
I would think any usb to sata adapter would be fine. Just look for one that is known to work with linux. I really don't use them.
thx!

Hallo,
OMV works properly, but pmagic show an Alert...
Is there an error, I've to fix before I grow up the RAID?
How to speed up omv?
Is ist a good idea to grade up RAM from 4GB to 8GB?
I give omv 10 GB on the Boot-SSD, it may be enough, or?
Must the Swap-Partition the same as the RAM?

Strange that pmagic has an issue. Not sure why you have a partition? Everything else is fine.
I grade up the system with 3 HDs. First I erase them, then I put them to the RAID, then I press the grow-Button of the filesystem.
All HDs are shown in RAID status is "active, reshaping", but no status bar. I think I#ve to wait for the Clean status, or?

Yes or look at the output from cat /proc/mdstat
