Execute the following command as root: grep -r CertificateComboBox /var/www/* and post the output

It is the owncloud plugin causing the problems. It hasn't been updated since the ssl/ssh cert combo split. Do the following to fix (as root):

    wget -O /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/form/field/CertificateComboBox.js https://sourceforge.net/p/openmediavault/code/1828/tree/trunk/deb/openmediavault/var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/form/field/CertificateComboBox.js?format=raw
    chown openmediavault:openmediavault /var/www/openmediavault/js/omv/form/field/CertificateComboBox.js

And it should be fixed. Or you could uninstall the plugin...

  • Yes that fixed it... Thank you very much :)

Out of interest, If I did uninstall the Owncloud plugin would that break the updated Owncloud, would it prevent me being able to mange certificates and ports etc.?

Also just to confirm, Am I right in assuming that remaining on Owncloud 7 is a safe bet and I should wait for OWV 3 before going to Owncloud 8?

    Thanks again :)

Sorry, no idea about owncloud version compatibility with the plugin.

  • root@OMV-TEST:~# dpkg -l | grep openmediavault
ii openmediavault 2.1.19 all Open network attached storage solution
ii openmediavault-keyring 0.4 all GnuPG archive keys of the OpenMediaVault archive
ii openmediavault-omvextrasorg 2.8 all OMV-Extras.org Package Repositories for OpenMediaVault
ii openmediavault-owncloud 2.0.3 all OpenMediaVault ownCloud plugin

  • oC is a pain even if you are good in linux. It should not be this difficult for an end user to use a service. Many are having issues upgrading to the newer version and there is a problem because it is using a newer version of PHP that is not compatible with OMV 2.x.

If you just want to sync data I would really recommend you try the syncthing plugin.

    Viel glueck!

  • Yes but if I don't upgrade to version 8 and stick with the last of version 7 it seems to run ok. I've only tested this in a virtual machine but so far its been ok. Version 7 seems to be a lot faster than version 6.

I didn't think Owncloud 7 used the new PHP but Owncloud 8 did?
