Installing OMV from scratch on BananaPi with ARMbian (Debian)
-
-
Omv doesn't work in Jessie yet, it will at version 3, but no eta yetis
-
Thanks a lot for your answer. Then I will try to install it on wheezy (as mentioned in this instruction), there is also an armbian image available.
Is there a list, which packages has to be included (PHP5, MySQL, Apache, ...)?Best regards,
Michael -
There is no package list, or you think you're gonna grab each package manually?,
Once you put the repo, apt-get will resolve and download everything.....hopefully.
-
Sorry that guide is outdated,
you should use this one Howto install OpenMediaVault on Debian 7.x (Wheezy)
Change the repo kralizec for stoneburner, if you want to get straight to 2.0
-
Thanks a lot. I will try it this weekend.
Best regards,

Hello,
installation worked fine. Thanks for your advise.
But now I have some problems mounting my hd. OMV detected the hd correctly (/dev/sda)
Also, creating the file system worked (/dev/sda1).
But then mounting failed.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot.
Michael -
Try fsck.ext4 -y /dev/sda1 then after is finish try and mount again in the webui
How old is the SDcard in use?
-
Same error.
Any ideas? The sd card is nearly new. Just bought it for the banana pi.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Michael -
Looks like some kernel fs options where disabled in that image,
try in cli
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt tell me if it mounts.
-
It seems to work. Result in putty ...
... and in OMV.
How can I make it permanent?
Best regards,
Michael -
umount /mnt
Then nano /etc/defaults/openmediavault at the end of the file put
OMV_FSTAB_MNTOPS_EXT4="defaults,nofail,noexec"
then /etc/init.d/openmediavault-engined restart
Try and press the mount button in the webUI.
-
umount /mnt
nano /etc/defaults/openmediavault
The file ist empty. After putting OMV_FSTAB_MNTOPS_EXT4="defaults,nofail,noexec" inside and trying to save the error is "noch such file or directory".
With nano /etc/default/openmediavault I get
At the end I put OMV_FSTAB_MNTOPS_EXT4="defaults,nofail,noexec" and then followed your instruction.
Mounting worked without any error. After reboot, everything is still okay.
After reboot everything is fine.
Thanks a lot.

Just so you know, this is the defaults options in OMV
defaults,nofail,user_xattr,noexec,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0"
So you have the options there disabled, like quota and xattr. You can do your research but i think the option bothering you is user_xattr, which is ACL, so you won't be able to use them.

Hi kidolphin,
what is the effect of your workaround? Which configuration will change by switching the 2 to 0?
Thanks a lot.

Your workaround does not work for me. I tried a new install from scratch. After getting the same error as above I modified the fstab like you, changing 2 to 0. Than I tried to mount the volume. Still the same error.
After that, I looked again inside the fstab. The 0 was changed to 2 again.
Any ideas? Thank you.

After mounting the drive with the shortened option for OMV OMV_FSTAB_MNTOPS_EXT4="defaults,nofail,noexec" I could totally remove the option from nano /etc/default/openmediavault or put the whole options in the command. After a reboot the drive is still mounted and writing/reading works. Why?

You have didn't reload engined and run omv-mkconf fstab probably?, are the options present in /etc/fstab line?
Guess you didn't read the whole thread
