IBM x3650 M2 and SAS HD's

  • Good day to you all!

Am I right if I say, that the standard Kernel with OMV2.1 can't handle my SAS disks on my IBM's M5014 controller? And that there's now simple way OMV2.1 will recognise them any time soon?

    Here's some logs:
    [ 2793.118275] scsi 0:0:10:0: Direct-Access IBM-ESXS MBD2147RC SB19 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6
    [ 2793.119279] scsi 0:0:15:0: Direct-Access IBM-ESXS CBRCA146C3ETS0 N C610 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6

    [ 2793.121352] scsi 0:0:22:0: Direct-Access HP EG0600FCVBK HPD3 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6
    [ 2793.122120] scsi 0:0:23:0: Direct-Access HP EG0600FCVBK HPD5 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6
    [ 2793.122937] scsi 0:0:24:0: Direct-Access HP EG0600FCVBK HPD3 PQ: 0 ANSI: 6

Debian seems to see that there's someting, but WebUI wont show any devices except the first 2 disks, which are a hardware-raid-1 (using the IBM M5014).

Anyone else having the same issue?

  • Thanks for your reply. I tried your solution. Installed OMV-extras, Kernel 3.1.6 (set as default boot kernel) and restartet server. Unfortunately, OMV2.1 doesn't see the 4 extra disks.

I used to test everything in my Virtualbox and worked like a charm, but on real hardware, my disk controller is maybe tooo old.

Anyways, thanks a bunch for helping me.

    Have a great day!
